Stephen Colbert and Kermit the Frog Ponder the Big Questions

Kermit the Frog’s current TV home, The Muppets, is returning to the air after a hiatus. Previously, the show had been criticized for attempting to be too edgy and abandoning its roots. Now, though, the show has been rebooted midseason and is attempting to win back Muppets fans they had previously alienated. With that comes more appearance for everybody’s favorite felt friends, including Kermit.

On The Late Show Monday, host Stephen Colbert invited Kermit to join him in some “Big Questions With Even Bigger Stars.” Things got deep. Kind of. “Hey, Kermit,” Colbert began. “You ever wonder why we’re here?” “Oh, well, I think it’s because your people reached out to my agent,” Kermit responded. Kermit had questions for Colbert as well. “Hey, Stephen, what makes you ‘you’?” Kermit asked. “Oh, I think it’s 12 writers and two hours of makeup,” Colbert said to laughter.
