Sterlin Harjo’s ‘Reservation Dogs’ Follow-Up Lands FX Series Order
Reservation Dogs co-creator and showrunner Sterlin Harjo has his next series at FX.
The Disney-owned outlet has placed a series order for a drama starring Ethan Hawke (who guest-starred on the final season of Reservation Dogs). The untitled series, formerly known as The Sensitive Kind, is set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is said to have a film noir vibe centering on Hawke’s character, a “guy who knows too much.” Other details are being kept quiet for now.

FX declined to comment.
The pickup comes on the heels of Reservation Dogs‘ final season scoring a best comedy series nomination at September’s Emmy Awards, one of four nods for the show this year. FX ordered a pilot for the new show in February; along with Hawke, the cast includes Keith David, Siena East, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson, Scott Shepherd, Tracy Letts, Kyle MacLachlan, Macon Blair, Killer Mike, Kaniehtiio Horne (who had a memorable recurring role as Deer Lady in Rez Dogs), Cody Lightning, Michael Hitchcock and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.
FX Productions, where Harjo has an overall deal, is producing the series. Harjo wrote and directed the pilot and will executive produce with Hawke and Garrett Basch.
The Harjo-Hawke drama is the second series order for FX in the past two days. On Monday, the network ordered The Beauty from creators Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, based on a graphic novel of the same name.
The series order also caps a big day for Harjo, who on Tuesday was named one of the MacArthur Foundation’s fellows for 2024. He is repped by CAA, Circle Management + Production and Del Shaw. Hawke is with CAA, MGMT Entertainment and attorney George Sheanshang.
Variety first reported the series order.
