Stone Temple Pilots and Live tour 2024: Phoenix setlist

Stone Temple Pilots and Live hit downtown Phoenix on Monday, Aug. 19, on a co-headlining tour with fellow ‘90s alt-rock breakouts Soul Asylum opening.

The Jubilee Tour is celebrating the 30th anniversary of two career-defining albums, “Throwing Copper” and “Purple.”

“Throwing Copper” was Live’s third album, produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads. Widely held to be their finest hour, “Throwing Copper” topped the Billboard album charts along the way to going eight-times-platinum while sending four songs to the Top 10 on the Modern Rock charts, including the chart-topping “Selling the Drama” and “Lightning Crashes.”

“Purple” was Stone Temple Pilots’ second album. It built on the momentum of their eight-times-platinum debut, 1992’s “Core,” spawning three massive rock-radio hits, two of which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s mainstream-rock chart – “Vasoline” and “Interstate Love Song.”

Those two albums obviously dominated both acts’ sets, as advertised, in Phoenix. But that still left plenty of time to dust off other songs of note.
