The show also starred Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman, and more.

Years after it wrapped, Suits had a massive resurgence in popularity when it was released on Netflix in summer 2023 and became one of the streaming giant’s highest-rated series ever with 1.79 billion minutes viewed, according to Nielsen’s weekly ratings. Its streaming success sparked rumors of a spin-off series, which was officially confirmed in February 2024.

Written by Korsh, Suits: L.A. will be set in Los Angeles, California, in the same timeframe as the original show. Although it will have an all-new cast, Beatrice Springborn, president of Universal International Studios and UCP, told Variety that the spin-off will “have the same energy and good looking people that the original did.”

We’re not officially ruling out cameos from the original cast, though. Read on to see who will star in Suits: L.A. and who of the original cast might show up.

Stephen Amell (Ted Black)

Canadian actor Stephen Amell was the first to be cast in the new spin-off series. He will star as Ted Black, “a charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others,” according to Variety. Ted is “a former New York prosecutor who joined forces 15 years ago with his old buddy Stuart Lane to build Black Lane Law, an L.A. law firm that specializes in criminal and entertainment law.”

Per the show’s official synopsis, “[Ted]’s firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

Amell is best known for portraying Oliver Queen (aka the Green Arrow) on all eight seasons of CW’s Arrow. He reprised his role in several of the series’ spin-offs, including Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Batwoman. While speaking with People in February 2024, Amell explained that his new role in Suits: L.A. is nothing like his past role in the Arrow-verse. “I’m very excited. It’s something very new and different for me,” he said. “Talky-talky, not punchy-punchy.”

The actor has also appeared in NCIS: Los Angeles, CSI: Miami, The Vampire Diaries and Private Practice. Most recently, he starred alongside his brother, actor Robbie Amell, in the Netflix action film Code 8: Part II.

Lex Scott Davis (Erica Rollins)

Actress Lex Scott Davis will star opposite Amell as Erica Rollins, a savvy and strong-willed rising star at the firm who is shrewd enough to test the loyalty of her associates only to admire some of them for not having any. While speaking to People about her new, Scott Davis teased that “maybe” there will be “some sort of rollover from the original cast.” She added: “It’s not impossible … I would love that myself if there was, but we’ll see. You never know.”

Scott Davis first rose to fame for her portrayal of Toni Braxton in the 2016 biopic Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart. She has plenty of other credits to her name, including The First Purge, The L Word: Generation Q, Florida Man and the 2024 comedy starring Zac Efron and John Cena, Ricky Stanicky.

McDermitt starred on seasons 4 through 11 of AMC’s hit zombie show as Eugene Porter. Although he has not appeared in any of the six Walking Dead spin-offs, McDermitt has an extensive list of credits to his name. He’s appeared in episodes of Mad Men, Showtime’s The Loudest Voice, Angie Tribeca and the reboot of Twin Peaks. He also has a leading role in the upcoming indie film Lilly, alongside Patricia Clarkson.

Winbush has also recurred and guest starred on 9-1-1, The Big Bang Theory, Scandal, Station 19, NCIS: New Orleans, CSI: Vegas and The Goldbergs, among many others.
