8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Survivor’!” In last week’s 11th episode, Rachel went on a solo journey where she earned a Block A Vote advantage. She told her “Underdogs” alliance members (Andy, Teeny, Caroline, Sue) all about it, but kept it from the three major threats (Sam, Genevieve, Kyle). Later, Rachel won the immunity challenge, thereby preventing Kyle from earning his fifth immunity necklace. At tribal council, Kyle was a complete gentleman as he was finally voted out of the game, even giving a hug to Jeff.
8:02 p.m. – It’s night 20 at the Beka camp and the players are mourning the loss of Kyle. Well, everyone but Sue. While licking her lips, she admits she’s at the “top of the world” because her arch enemy is finally gone. Sam calls Kyle a “useful shield,” but that he couldn’t do anything to save him because he and Genevieve were outnumbered. “As long as I’m on this island, I’m gonna fight,” he declares as we cut to the main titles sequence.
8:06 p.m. — On the morning of day 21, Caroline and Sue are cooking rice for breakfast. They believe they are both “running the game” and that no one else has realized it. Sue is crawling through the mud to try to find idols and advantages, thereby getting “dirtier and dirtier every day,” laughs Caroline.
8:08 p.m. — Genevieve apologizes to Andy for being “disrespectful” toward his game last week, and he accepts her apology. “The best thing for my game is to shrink,” she realizes in reference to her perceived threat level. She wants to be the “big bad wolf,” but that will get her sent home. The better play for her is to “play possum” and a “sad puppy.” Genevieve tells Teeny that Rachel is her new target and that everyone’s chances to win will “get better” if Rachel is gone. They have an argument when Teeny accuses her of making a “threat” that if Rachel is in the end, Genevieve will vote for her over Teeny.
8:10 p.m. — Teeny tells Rachel that Genevieve is “actively targeting” her. However, Rachel is not worried because she feels “secure” in trusting her fellow “Underdogs” alliance members. Also, she has an idol that nobody else knows about, plus a Block A Vote advantage.
8:12 p.m. — It’s time for the reward challenge! The players will race through sandbag obstacles and retrieve a ball from a net tunnel, and then grab a second ball and crawl under a net, where they will then throw two balls onto raised perches. The winner will earn an overnight trip to the Survivor Sanctuary, where they will eat Italian foods like pizza, pasta, salad, wine, soda, and tiramisu … plus receive their letters from home. Sam and Rachel are the first players to arrive at the final stage, with Sam succeeding in throwing both balls onto the perches.
8:20 p.m. — Jeff lets Sam pick two people, and he chooses Andy and Genevieve. Once those three leave for the reward, Jeff asks the other four what Sam’s decision has on the game. Teeny says Genevieve and Sam are already a “clear duo,” and that by leaving her at camp, it pushes her away from them even further. She calls it a “foolish” decision and that their “last supper” will have a “horrible” outcome for their game.
8:23 p.m. — This marks Sam’s third time at the Survivor Sanctuary, even though he can’t win immunity to save his life. While chomping on Italian food, Sam apologizes to Andy for not being a good friend to him earlier in the game. Genevieve explains how the Kishan vote is what made her change her game and why she started keeping everybody at “arm’s length.”
8:28 p.m. — Genevieve’s letter from home is from her father, who predicts she has lots of friends in this game, even though she has none … by design. She also received an inspirational letter from her husband. Sam’s letter is from his brother, and Andy’s is from his mother.
8:30 p.m. — Meanwhile at camp, Teeny is absolutely furious with Sam’s decision and accuses him of “quitting the game.” She makes fun of him and says she will take “great joy” in orchestrating his demise. Teeny, Caroline, Sue, and Rachel want to “run this show” as the final four girls by eliminating Sam, Genevieve, and Andy, in that order.
8:36 p.m. — On day 22 at the Sanctuary, Andy tells Sam and Genevieve all about the “Underdogs” alliance and that Rachel has a Block A Vote advantage. Thus, they create a plan dubbed “Operation: Italy” involving turning Sam’s expired idol into a fake immunity idol, and making sure the votes are split so that they can take out Rachel. Back at camp, the four girls appear to fall for the plan hook, line, and sinker.
8:45 p.m. — It’s time for the immunity challenge, which will require balance, dexterity, and touch. The castaways must navigate a balance beam while transporting a pole with a ball on top, and then they have to use the pole to maneuver two skulls through a maze. Finally, three small balls must be balanced on a flat plate so that they fall into narrow dimples. Rachel is the only person who gets a ball to stick, and she ends up winning her second consecutive immunity challenge. Now that Rachel is safe, Andy wonders aloud, “Who is the new target?”
8:51 p.m. — Sam and Genevieve plan on fighting like hell, and have to pick between Teeny and Caroline now that Rachel is safe. Genevieve shows her fake idol to Sam, while Andy convinces the four girls to split the votes. Teeny doesn’t believe Genevieve has an idol, but seems to be on board anyway. Genevieve shows Teeny her fake idol, but only for a brief moment because she doesn’t want her to know it’s fake. Teeny fully believes the plan, but doesn’t tell anyone because her end goal of Sam going home will still work out.
8:58 p.m. — Rachel and Caroline tell Sam that they are writing down Genevieve’s name. Sue suggests that if she gets a bad “gut feeling” at tribal council, she will whip out her idol and play it for Caroline. Rachel contemplates using her Block A Vote, but Andy tells her to keep it for next week.
9:07 p.m. — At tribal council, Genevieve, Sam, and Andy talk about their trip to the Survivor Sanctuary, while Teeny and Caroline explain how they were “in the majority” back at camp. Sam is “at the end” of his rope, he tells Jeff, and he feels “powerless.” Genevieve is “fine and confident” regarding where she’s at right now in the game.
9:22 p.m. — It’s time for the players to vote. No one uses an idol or advantage. The votes are in: Sam, Genevieve, Caroline, Sam, Genevieve, Caroline, Caroline. “Operation: Italy” is a success! The jury suspects that Andy flipped again, and they’re right. Sue looks heartbroken that Caroline is gone. After Caroline’s torch is snuffed, Genevieve can hardly hold back her smile.
NEXT TIME: Teeny doesn’t trust anyone. Andy is in a grand conspiracy to take over the game. Teeny tells Sue the idol is fake. Rachel is “so mad” as she breaks down. Teeny tells the others about Rachel’s Block A Vote. So much is going down next week! The two-part finale airs on Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 on CBS.
