‘Survivor 47’ preview: Rachel LaMont realizes the ‘Goldilocks complex’ is the ‘key to winning’ [WATCH]
“Survivor 47” fans, it’s time to meet Rachel LaMont, a 34-year-old graphic designer from Southfield, Michigan. “I love people. I love games. I love challenging myself. I love money,” she states with a laugh in CBS’s preview video. “So, like, what is there not to love about ‘Survivor’?” Watch Rachel’s intro above at the 2:06 mark.
The tech wiz notes, “I design user interfaces. When you’re using an app, you don’t necessarily notice the color, the buttons or the typography that’s being used. All of those things should feel really seamless. That’s how I want to integrate myself in this game. No one’s actually paying attention to the fact that I’m there all the time.”

Rachel dives deep when she confesses, “I’m weird and I’m quirky and just a little neurotic and a little too much at times. And I think my husband Derek is the absolute foil to my personality. We just really balance each other out. I hope that I can find somebody out here that has similar characteristics and is able to keep me in check.”
As for her strategic mindset, the Michigan resident divulges, “I’ve been thinking about this Goldilocks complex. Not too smart, but not un-strategic. Not too physical, but not too weak. Just being right in that middle spot. That’s key to winning.”
