SVU Sneak Peek: You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Heard Carisi Say ‘Ick Vibes’ (Exclusive)
Turns out, once Carisi’s Outraged Dad Mode is activated, it’s a tough thing to switch off.
Remember a few Law & Order: SVUs ago, when that creepy man was leering at Rollins’ daughter, Jesse, on the street? Carisi’s investigation of the guy didn’t stop with the stern talking-to he delivered in the moment, we learn in tonight’s episode (NBC, 9/8c). And in the exclusive sneak peek above, Capt. Benson is letting the assistant district attorney know that in trying to protect his stepdaughter, he’s coming perilously close to crossing an ethical boundary.

When Olivia questions Carisi in her office, she wonders what he’s found in his dogged pursuit of the sketchy guy. She’s unimpressed with his explanation that the man in question was reported and removed from a school in Long Island City a year before (though we’re highly impressed with Peter Scanavino’s line reading on “ick vibes.” 10/10, no notes). “I’m going to turn this around on you, OK?” Carisi tells his old boss. “What would you do if this was Noah’s school?”
After admitting that she’d feel similarly, she warns him that the guy hasn’t actually done anything illegal yet. He counters that he might. “Carisi, we are public servants. We are not vigilantes,” says Benson, seemingly forgetting all of the times that she has definitely acted vigilante-adjacent.
Elsewhere in the hour, per the official synopsis, “Bruno must get to the center of a victim’s incomplete story to track down a serial rapist.”
