SXSW lineup features 'Get Hard,' 'Spy,' 'Trainwreck'

SXSW Film Festival announced its slate today, highlighting the major releases it will screen, as well as the more obscure titles that will be at the festival. 

In the Headliners section, SXSW will host the world premieres of Will Ferrell-Kevin Hart comedy Get Hard and Michael Showalter’s Hello, My Names Is Doris, alongside the North American premiere of Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson’s sci-fi thriller Ex Machina. The section will also screen Melissa McCarthy’s Spy and Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy. 

Elsewhere, a number of TV shows will also make their world premiere at the festival, including TBS’s Angie Tribeca from Steve and Nancy Carell, FX’s The Comedians starring Billy Crystal, and The CW’s iZombie from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas. In what is billed as a special event, the festival will also play host to a work in progress look at Trainwreck, written by and starring Amy Schumer and directed by Judd Apatow. 

The Narrative Feature Competition has films starring the likes of Taissa Farmiga, Rachel Dratch, Jay Duplass, and Mira Sorvino, while the festival’s Narrative Spotlight section features Wild Horses, written and directed by Robert Duvall and starring James Franco.
