A day after her headlining set at Montreal’s Osheaga Fest, SZA shared on Monday that she’ll be taking a break from performances “for a while.”
“Yesterday was my last show for a while,” the R&B queen wrote on X. “Finally bout to get my life together thank u God.”

The post from SZA came right after she reposted a fan’s compliment about her shows being “so hype.”
“This makes me so happy cause that’s all I’m tryna do !! I jus wanna capture yalls energy mix it up w mine add some love and throw it back,” SZA wrote. “All within 90 mins I love you.”
SZA has been on the festival run this summer, playing massive sets at Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and Glastonbury, after performing 63 shows across the world on her SOS tour between February 2023 and May 2024. The singer’s album was ranked first in Rolling Stone‘s best album of the year last year.
Don’t misinterpret the “Kill Bill” singer’s post about taking a break from stages as a step away from new music, though. During her show at Lollapalooza, she debuted “Cry Baby” and told the crowd: “It’s not out, but it will be.” She’s also been teasing an album named Lana for a while and a Paramore collab.
“Will be dropping the leaks and outtakes from SOS as promised as the deluxe asap,” SZA wrote on X in March. “Lana deserves more time and music no one’s ever heard before.”
Over the weekend, the singer also shared a video of Chappell Roan’s Lollapalooza performance on Instagram, and captioned, “She makes me wanna keep making new music n art forever.”
