Tamar, Trina, Towanda, and Ms. Evelyn Braxton Reunite At ‘The Braxtons’ Atlanta Premiere
The Braxton family is back on the silver screen. On Thursday (Aug. 8), Trina, Towanda, Tamar, and Ms. Evelyn Braxon reunited to celebrate the premiere of their new reality series The Braxtons. Toni Braxton is a part of the series, but she did not attend the Atlanta event. The intimate audience, with special guests Gocha Hawkins, WSB-TV anchor Jonathan Martin, Arrington Foster, and Elijah Connor, was welcomed with an introduction by Trina and Towanda Braxton, followed by a special advance screening of the premiere episode.
News of the new show was confirmed in February 2024, building anticipation after the family’s three-year hiatus.
“The first reason why is because this is something that Traci [Braxton] wanted us to do. During her final days, this was something that became important to her. And I remember calling [Carlos King] in tears because I was so conflicted because I did not know what to do,” detailed Tamar of the decision to bring their lives back to audiences.
“Number two, my mother asked me to come back because she wanted the remaining of her daughters to finish a show that was so important, not to just this community, but to her as a mother and also to her daughters.”
The new series is described as follows:
“The fierce Braxton women reunite for the first time since the loss of their beloved sister, Traci, offering viewers a raw and unfiltered look at the family’s highs and lows across eight captivating episodes. Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar and Ms. E navigate careers, health challenges and busy personal lives while growing their family bond. Toni faces a critical health challenge as she prepares for her Vegas comeback. Trina starts therapy for PTSD. Towanda battles alopecia. Tamar focuses on her wellness journey. And Ms. E’s cooking show dream is becoming a reality. However, the family reuniting continues to bring up questions and unresolved issues. Will Traci’s last wish be enough for the family to be close again, as they once were?”
The Braxtons premieres Friday, (Aug, 9) at 9:30pm, with hour-long episodes airing exclusively on We TV and streaming on ALLBLK weekly. Take a look inside of the premiere celebration event below.
