Taylor Swift’s sweet message to Ryan Reynolds

In anticipation of the release of Deadpool and Wolverine, Swift took to her Instagram story on July 25 to celebrate actor and long-time friend Reynolds.

She posted a photo of herself with Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, along with Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and the film’s director, Shawn Levy. Swift also included a heartwarming yet humorous personal life moment below the image.

"Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness and magic into this film," Swift wrote in the caption of the Green Lantern star. "He's created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality and an abs sandwich. I don't know how he did it."

She also joked about Jackman and Reynolds’ friendship. “But that's just Hugh for you,” she added. "These other randoms crashed the photo and we were too polite to ask them to leave.”

Swift sang the movie’s praises and even encouraged people to buy tickets ahead of the release.

Longtime Swifties know how close the singer is to Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, but the last part of her Instagram caption confirmed the depths of their friendship and the connection to her 2020 album Folklore

“Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka, my godkids’ sperm donor,” she wrote at the bottom of the caption.

A timeline of Taylor Swift’s relationship with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Swift and Lively have been good friends for a decade after the pair met up in Australia during Swift’s 1989 world tour.

Lively and Reynolds have been invited to various parties Swift has hosted and vice versa, and they have been part of Swift’s tight-knit circle for more than 10 years. Lively has also been seen with Swift on various red carpets before award shows and the husband-and-wife team has shown up to a few concerts on the Eras Tour, praising every album of hers including The Tortured Poets Department.

In 2017, James Reynolds’ voice (the duo’s first daughter) was featured on “Gorgeous,” one of the singles from Swift’s album, Reputation. Swift also used their three girls' names in a track from Folklore. Kids James, Inez and Betty were all characters in the song “Betty” and Reynolds joked recently that Swift would reveal the name of his and Lively’s fourth child in a song before they would announce it themselves.

Lively, Reynolds and Jackman were also present during a Kansas City Chiefs game last year, when Swift was there in a suite cheering on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

Lively also joined in on the love for her husband and friends. She reposted Swift’s story and wrote a cute caption of her own.

“Thank you @taylorswift for honoring my guy(s),” she wrote in the first part. She also took a humorous approach and said: “I couldn’t have said it better myself. Which is unsurprising given that I have 14 less grammys and not a single sold out stadium world tour.”
