Taylor Swift’s 'Famous' response draws Hamilton comparisons
After Kim Kardashian released video footage of Taylor Swift speaking with Kanye West about his infamous “Famous” lyric — “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous” — on Sunday night, Swift promptly posted a response that featured one line very familiar to fans of the hit musical Hamilton.
After writing that she had never actually heard the song and thus couldn’t approve it, Swift wrote, “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative.” Hamilton fans immediately drew the comparison between that phrase and one that Phillipa Soo’s character of Eliza Schuyler sings in her emotional ballad “Burn”: “I’m erasing myself from the narrative.”
