Taylor Swift Fans Call Out Media for Asking Blake Lively 'Insensitive' Questions After Terror Threat

Fans aren't happy with one reporter's conversation with Blake Lively.

While promoting her new movie It Ends With Us in London on Thursday, Aug. 8, the actress was asked about the recent terror threat that forced her close friend Taylor Swift to cancel three Eras Tour shows in Vienna this weekend.

In video footage from her conversation with Access Hollywood during Thursday's red carpet, the reporter asked Lively "how concerned" she is about the situation in Vienna, which was disappointing for thousands of Swifties and likely the "Karma" singer herself.

Lively provided a brief but polite response, saying, "Oh my gosh, I mean how terrifying, but thank goodness that they are completely on top of that."

She also began walking away from the reporter while giving her answer, seemingly trying to shut down any further questions on the topic.

Despite Lively's ability to manage the situation gracefully, fans online thought it was an "insensitive" question to ask the Gossip Girl alum in the first place, especially since Swift hasn't even spoken publicly about the issue yet.

"Blake is so right for immediately stepping away," one TikTok user wrote under a video of the interaction, calling the reporter's question, "So unwarranted."

"Insensitive and inappropriate question," another commenter wrote.

"She got so uncomfortable," someone else pointed out, adding that it was "Not the time" to ask a sensitive question like that.

Other commenters also argued that the situation in Austria has nothing to do with Lively, 36, who was only trying to promote her new film.

"Yeah lets keep questions about Blake...not about her friend Taylor. It's not Blake's responsibility to speak on this situation at all."

Swift, 34, has yet to issue any public statements about the safety threat or the canceled Eras Tour concerts, but Taylor Nation has notified fans that fans with tickets to this weekend's canceled shows in Vienna will be refunded within 10 business days.
