Taylor Swift Seemingly Claps Back After Dave Grohl’s Divisive Eras Tour Commentary Goes Viral

Taylor Swift appears to have responded to a divisive comment made by Dave Grohl during the final night of her first weekend performing the Eras Tour in London, and fans say she did it with a whole lot of class.

The "Karma" songstress and the Foo Fighters each held a concert in the English capital the night before, on Saturday, June 22, with the band playing London Stadium as Swift performed at Wembley.

Overnight, a video clip of Grohl, 55, went viral online, where he seemed to suggest that Swift and her band aren't really playing live on stage each night. Amid her Sunday show, Swift intentionally called out the fact that they do—and for an astounding three and a half hours each night—as she applauded the hard work of her entire crew.

In a video shared on X, Swift addressed the crowd after the traditional post-"Champagne Problems" ovation, telling fans, "What you just did is an unforgettable moment in not just my life, but every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who's going to be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much. And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it."

Grohl caught heat after adopting the fan-favored nickname the "Errors Tour" for his own show, telling his audience, "We’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few...errors, as well. That’s because we actually play live. What!?

While some interpreted the dig as a joke, others were stunned by how "uncharacteristically mean" Grohl has been, with one fan pointing out that it didn't matter if his intent was harmless. “[I]dc if he’s making fun of himself,” they wrote. “Insinuating she doesn’t play live is an insult.”

Fans appreciated how the singer "stay[ed] classy" in the apparent response, defending not only her own live vocals but "crediting her entire crew and performers," too.
