Taylor Swift's Ex Matty Healy Said to Be Engaged One Year After Breakup

Around a year after his split from superstar Taylor Swift, The 1975 singer Matty Healy, is reportedly engaged to 26-year-old model Gabbriette Bechtel.

While Bechtel was allegedly spotted wearing her engagement ring since last month, the model spotlighted the news when she posted a photo of her left hand at Charli XCX's show for her Brat album in New York City showing off a huge black diamond ring.

She wrote over the photo, "MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT," and tagged Healy's account. Bechtel also posted a mirror selfie of herself holding up her ring finger with a serious face.

Healy's mother, English actress and TV personality Denise Welch, confirmed the big news on Loose Women, a British talk show, saying "Now that it's official ... he's got engaged to Gabriella Bechtel — Gabbriette she's known as."

She praised Bechtel, saying, "I couldn't be more thrilled. We couldn't be happier — she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law. I'm thrilled."

Fans of the 35-year-old singer reacted to the news saying, "HAPPY FOR THEM BUT IM CRYING," "SLAY," and "I FR THOUGHT THEY WERE JOKING BUT IM SO HAPPY FOR THEM IF ITS TRUE."

"This is literally the coolest way to announce it ever i love them so much," said someone else.

Swifties had different reactions, with many referencing tracks on The Tortured Poets Department that are believed to be about Healy.

"Surprise songs this weekend are going to be so feral," wrote one fan looking forward to Swift's next Eras Show, as another wondered if Swift will write new songs about this, saying, "New Taylor album in 6 months."

"TTPD 5 new variants incoming," a similar reply read.

Swift and Healy have known each other for years, but they reportedly began a romantic relationship in early 2023, not long after she ended her years-long romance with Joe Alwyn.
