Ted Danson Reveals His Sweet Morning Routine With Wife Mary Steenburgen
Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen's first met more than 40 years ago. On a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Ted revealed how their relationship remains strong after decades together.
Ted joined Drew to reminisce about their time acting together on Big Miracle and to discuss Ted's podcast with his Cheers costar Woody Harrelson. But the conversation took a personal turn when Ted talked about his love story with Mary.
Ted and Mary first met in 1983 but fell in love a decade later during their time together filming Pontiac Moon. They were married in 1995. Drew asked Ted about his relationship with Mary, and he said, "We laugh all day...we're very much in love, very lucky, very blessed. And we know it, also. We celebrate it all the time."
Ted continued to describe the way they start their days together. He said, "Even when we have a 6:00 pickup call, we will set our alarms for 4:30 so that we can have two cups of coffee in bed, and play Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections—the New York Times games."
Ted, who is 76, continued, "We team up, we don't compete. We're two aging brains who join together and we're really smart. We're geniuses, together."
With habits like this, it's no wonder Ted and Mary's marriage has stood the test of time.
