Teyana Taylor Accuses Iman Shumpert Of Being Intoxicated When With Their Children
According to new court documents obtained by TMZ, Teyana Taylor has accused her estranged husband, Iman Shumpert, of being intoxicated while caring for their two daughters, Junie and Rue.
The A Thousand And One star claimed the former NBA player has failed to properly care for their children by allegedly smoking marijuana around the them and being under the influence while they’re in his care.
In the documents, Shumpert was also accused of failing to feed the girls when they were with him. Allegedly, he “consistently demonstrates a clear disregard for the safety of the minor children,” per the filing. The couple announced their separation back in September, but Taylor actually filed for divorce back in January of 2023.
That November, she addressed the split and its subsequent rumors from Shumpert for the “first and last time” via Instagram.
“I mind my business, don’t bother nobody & y’all know I’ve never played about my children, family, & our privacy,” wrote the 33-year-old. “I have not spoken on this private matter to any media outlets or blogs etc. So everyone claiming ‘Teyana said’ didn’t get any statements directly from ME.”
The Harlem native added, “It is very heartbreaking that someone would take out the time to make such a private matter public for the world to see. However, protecting my family is one thing I’ve ALWAYS done & for my children, I will continue to do. Please if y’all love y’all play nieces, Junie & Rue, like y’all have shown, please allow myself & my family some privacy to resolve this matter in peace.”
Earlier this week, Taylor gushed about her daughters and motherhood on the Tamron Hall Show after Junie and Rue jokingly showed her up at the Book Of Clarence Los Angeles premiere.
“Junie is crazy on the red carpet. She did an interview [with Entertainment Tonight] and she’s like, ‘I hope my mom gets all of the awards because she’s very talented. Then, she proceeds to say, ‘And I just want to say, I love all of you guys, love my fans, I love my -.’ Honest to God […] Junie is that girl!” said the budding creative director.
She later added, “Having Junie and having Rue has definitely made me spare a few more apologies to my mom […] I love my girls.”
