The Awkwardness Continues on ‘Live With Kelly and Michael’

Michael Strahan’s final day on Live is fast approaching. He and Kelly Ripa enjoyed the glow Monday from winning a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment, Talk Show Hosts. On Tuesday, Ripa addressed Strahan’s departure. “A week from this Friday is Michael’s final show here at Live,” she said, which was followed by a chorus of boos. One audience member shouted, “We still love you, Kelly!” to which Ripa responded, “No. I’m still here.”

She’s still there … for now. Rumors have swirled that despite the apology from ABC, tensions are high as to whether Ripa will stay with the program. However, it was all smiles between the two hosts. “We’ll remember, reminisce, look back at the fun times we had together,” said Ripa. “Wait till you see all the fun stuff we’ve done.” Hopefully it will be smooth sailing until next Friday, which falls on the 13th, coincidentally a foreboding date in pop culture.
