The Cast of 'Trolls' Wants These Other '90s Fads to Make a Comeback
With Trolls now in theaters, it’s possible the Trolls toy line will make a rip-roaring comeback into the lives of children, but even if it does, it’ll probably mostly be associated with being a fad in the 1990s. When Yahoo Movies sent Senior Editor Kevin Polowy to chat with the stars of the new animated feature, he took a survey to see if there were other fads from that decade that should return to the limelight.
Hacky Sacks
Justin Timberlake (Branch): “Absolutely. I feel like they’re mostly … well … I can’t say it. I associate Hacky Sacks with stoners. It’s like, ‘I didn’t make the soccer team and I smoke weed — I just play Hacky Sack.’”
Christopher Mintz-Plasse (King Gristle): “Those never left, dude. Go find some hippies in a park — you’ll be breathing Hacky Sacks.”
Fanny packs
Anna Kendrick (Poppy): “Yes, absolutely. I’m sorry, as one who has to wear things that have no pockets all the time and always be dealing with the purse…”
Mintz-Plasse: “Those are fantastic; they need to come back.”
Timberlake: “No … the first radio interview I ever did in London, they asked me, ‘What’s the biggest style faux pas? What’s the biggest fashion faux pas?’ And I was like, ‘Fanny packs.’ And they were like, ‘No! No!’ And I was like, ‘Yes! Yes!’ And they were like, ‘No! No!’ And I was like, ‘Yes! Yeah, fanny packs.’ And they were like, ‘That’s not what you think it means.’”
