The hilarious prank former second lady Jill Biden pulled on Air Force Two
Former second lady Jill Biden stopped by The Daily Show With Trevor Noah Wednesday night to promote her new memoir, Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself, which Trevor Noah described as "genuinely one of the most surprising memoirs" he has read recently. In fact, one thing that he didn't expect to learn about Biden is that she is a prankster.
"Yeah, I am. You know, things in the White House are always pretty serious," Biden explained. "So I like to make a little fun and have a good time." Biden then shared one of the hilarious pranks she once pulled on Air Force Two.
"We were leaving on Air Force Two and I was coming from school, I'm a teacher, and so I was waiting and waiting for Joe and he didn't get there. So I thought, ‘you know what, I'm going to get in the overhead,’" said Biden.
Noah and the audience laughed, as the host pointed out, "Most people would text but, yes, yes, carry on."
Biden continued her story, as she explained how she "got up on the table," opened up the overhead bin and climbed right in. The first people to enter the plane were the staff members.
"I hid and the first person that came to put their bags in, I [screamed] 'Boo!'" described Biden, who said that the poor, unsuspecting guy she scared screamed for "like 20 minutes."
"Of all the things I would expect to find in an overhead bin, I can safely say the second lady of the United States is not one of them," said Noah.
Jill Biden's husband, Joe Biden, is currently one of the frontrunners in the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination and, should Biden one day become the president, we can likely expect to hear about a lot more hilarious pranks to come.
The Daily Show With Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
