From Western influence to Werner Herzog: What we learned about 'The Mandalorian' at Star Wars Celebration
Star Wars Celebration 2019 wound down in a big way Sunday with our first look at The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm's very first live-action television series hitting Disney+ this fall.
Plot details were scant — stop us if you've heard that one before — but between a 45-minute panel with creator Jon Favreau, executive producer Dave Filoni, stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and Carl Weathers, a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel and about five minutes of actual show footage, a clearer picture of the program is emerging.
Watch our report above for the scoop on the show’s timing, tone, characters (like Werner Herzog’s!), cameos, vehicles and more.
The Mandalorian hits the Disney+ streaming service Nov. 12.
