Timothée Chalamet Fined $73 for Not Properly Parking Bike at ‘A Complete Unknown’ Premiere
On Tuesday evening, Aidan Zamiri, who has been photographing Timothée Chalamet during the press run for A Complete Unknown, shared an Instagram Story showing three notifications from Lime, the bike-sharing company. Two flagged an idle bike. The last was a parking penalty: “Your last ride did not end in a designated parking area. You will be charged £2 for incorrect parking in the future.” Chalamet rode to the London premiere of the Bob Dylan biopic on one of their bikes but ditched it without docking. Now, he’s been hit with the fine.
“I actually wasn’t allowed to park there,” Chalamet said during an appearance on the French program Quotidien earlier this week. “I got a £65 fine, and actually, it’s horrible because it was an advert for them.”

The actor took the ecological route so he wouldn’t get stuck in traffic, but Lime doesn’t really need any brand ambassadors. Plus, the promo pool is crowded. Harry Styles and Paul Mescal have been pictured riding around London on their own bright green Lime bikes plenty of times. The fine equates to around $73. It’s a good thing A Complete Unknown has already grossed more than $50 million.
The success of the film likely comes as a relief for Chalamet, who understood the stakes of taking on the role. “People are deeply protective of Bob Dylan and his music legacy,” he told Rolling Stone in a recent cover story, “because it’s so pure in a sense, and they don’t want to see a biopic mishandle that.”
In a review of the film, Rolling Stone‘s David Fear wrote: “You can see he’s tapping into something deeper than an impersonation of someone who’s had his share of impersonators, literal and otherwise. Chalamet isn’t becoming Bob Dylan. He’s carefully crafting a performance that’s evocative of him, while channeling some wild, mercurial thing in the ether.”
