Timothée Chalamet’s Oscars Outfit Brightens the 2025 Red Carpet in Yellow Leather Givenchy Suit
Timothée Chalamet brightened the red carpet at the 2025 Oscars on Sunday in Los Angeles. The actor earned his second Oscar nomination for his work in the film “A Complete Unknown,” which also received a best picture nod at this year’s Academy Awards.
For the special red carpet occasion, Chalamet styled a custom look courtesy of Givenchy. The actor wore a bright yellow suit, complete with tapered, slightly slouchy trousers, which he paired with a complementary button-up shirt with a sharp collar.

The actor paired the look with a double-breasted, long-sleeve jacket. Chalamet paired his suited attire with black loafers. Chalamet’s look was curated by stylist Taylor McNeill, with whom the actor has collaborated throughout awards season and during the promotional tour for “A Complete Unknown.”
Chalamet isn’t the only “A Complete Unknown” star to wear custom Givenchy at the 2025 Academy Awards. Elle Fanning also wore a custom gown from the French luxury fashion house. The white gown is made in French Lyon lace and silk tulle with a molded corset and Watteau caped back. The design marked Sarah Burton’s first custom haute couture look for the red carpet.
In September 2024, Burton was named the new creative director of Givenchy. Burton, famous for designing Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding dress, spent years at Alexander McQueen before her appointment to Givenchy.
“Sarah Burton is an exceptional creative talent whose work I have passionately followed for many years. I am very glad that she is joining Givenchy today,” Sidney Toledano, chairman of the Givenchy board, said in a statement shared with WWD in September 2024.
The 97th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, takes place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Conan O’Brien is hosting the ceremony, honoring the best in cinema from the past year. Notable presenters include Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Oprah Winfrey, Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone and more.
