Toby Keith Passes Away, Country Star Was 62

Country music star Toby Keith has passed away at the age of 62 after a battle with stomach cancer.

The news comes from Keith’s official website. “Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family,” says the statement. “He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time.” The musician was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2022.

Keith was one of the biggest country music stars in the 90s and 2000s. Hits include “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” “I Wanna Talk About Me,” Beer for My Horses,” “As Good as I Once Was,” and “How Do You Like Me Now?!” Keith was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Donald Trump in 2021.

In 2008, Keith starred in the film Beer for My Horses. Produced by CMY Films, the movie was distributed by Roadside Attractions and also starred Ted Nugent, Claire Forlani, and Rodney Carrington. A pro wrestling fan, he also made several appearances in Total Nonstop Action.
