Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey among 23 former cast members added to the ‘SNL50’ anniversary special
The guest list for the SNL50 anniversary special has added 23 former cast members to its impressive roster.
The just-announced A-listers are Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Chevy Chase, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Fred Armisen, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtin, Jason Sudeikis, Jimmy Fallon, Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, Kristen Wiig, Laraine Newman, Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon, Pete Davidson, Seth Meyers, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Will Ferrell, and Will Forte.

They’ll join the following previously announced list of celebrities: Adam Driver, Ayo Edebiri, Bad Bunny, Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, Kim Kardashian, Martin Short, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Pedro Pascal, Peyton Manning, Quinta Brunson, Robert De Niro, Sabrina Carpenter, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, and Woody Harrelson.
NBC and Peacock’s live three-hour event from Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center has an airdate of Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Watch the promo video above.
While none of the current cast members for Season 50 is listed, we have a feeling they’ll all be in attendance, too. The current SNL lineup consists of Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Colin Jost, Michael Longfellow, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Devon Walker, and Bowen Yang, plus featured players Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline.
Other anniversary-related events to watch for include the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert on Feb. 14. Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the Peacock concert will showcase iconic performances from Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard, Chris Martin, David Byrne, DEVO, Eddie Vedder, Jack White, Jelly Roll, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Mumford & Sons, Post Malone, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Robyn, The B-52s, The Roots, and more.
Peacock is also home to the show’s collection of original documentary programming, including SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night and Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music.

Saturday Night Live made headlines during the 2024 Presidential Election cycle when former cast member Maya Rudolph returned to portray Vice President Kamala Harris. She was joined by Jim Gaffigan as VP contender Tim Walz, Andy Samberg as second gentleman Douglas Emhoff, and Dana Carvey as President Joe Biden. Donald Trump was once again portrayed by Johnson, while his veep candidate, JD Vance, was played by Yang.
At the last Emmy Awards, Lorne Michaels‘ long-running variety show shattered its own record as the winningest TV program in history. SNL won six trophies overall this year (directing, hairstyling, makeup, production design, lighting design and technical direction), bringing its five-decade total to 101 Emmy Awards. The next closest series in second place is Game of Thrones with 59 overall.
