Top HuffPost Editor Howard Fineman Leaves for NBC News
HuffPost Global Editorial Director Howard Fineman announced Thursday he will be leaving the publication for NBC News.
“I’m leaving HuffPost and taking the writing part of my work to NBC News, where I’ll contribute piece on politics, in Washington and nationally, and on other topics, starting the week of January 8,” he wrote in a holiday memo to staff. “The move makes sense, since I have a long-time relationship with NBC and MSNBC on broadcast and cable.”
Fineman joined HuffPost from Newsweek in 2010 after an invitation from it’s eponymous founder, Arianna Huffington.

Since that time, the website has experienced explosive growth — but also periodic layoffs and frequent newsroom turbulence.
“I have been in and worked in a lot of newsrooms, and there is NO PLACE where people care about and cheer for each other the way HuffPosters do,” he added in his memo. “I am proud and thankful to have been part of all this.”
Reps for Huffington Post and NBC did not immediately respond to request for comment from TheWrap.
The news was first reported by Business Insider.
