Tori Spelling files for divorce from Dean McDermott 9 months after split news
Tori Spelling has finally filed for divorce from her husband of 18 years, Dean McDermott, nine months after they announced their separation.
Court documents obtained by The Post show the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum, 50, filed Friday, citing irreconcilable differences and the date of separation as June 17, 2023.
The Post has contacted reps for Spelling and McDermott for comment.
The “Due South” alum announced his divorce from Spelling in June, writing in a since-deleted Instagram post, “It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children.”
Spelling is requesting joint legal custody of the couple’s five minor kids and wants sole physical custody, with visitation for McDermott to be determined at a later date. She also wants her estranged lover to pay spousal support and for her lawyer fees.
On Tuesday in Los Angeles, the former couple was spotted in a heated conversation at a storage unit. Spelling appeared to be crying as McDermott leaned on a nearby fence in defeat at one point.
Earlier this month, McDermott gushed to Page Six about what a “great support” Spelling has been amid their separation and his sobriety.
“You know, she just wants me to be happy. Bottom line,” he said. “And she’s such an incredible woman that way. She’s one of the most generous people I’ve ever met in my life.”
He also claimed that Spelling and his new girlfriend, Lily Calo, whom he started dating four months after their split, “get along fabulously.”
“I’m blessed, you know, having everybody get along and come together for the greater good of the kids. I just, I’m so blessed. It’s a beautiful thing,” McDermott told the outlet.
