‘How to Train Your Dragon 3′ Pushed to 2017

DreamWorks Animation has delayed the third “How to Train Your Dragon” movie another year, setting a release date of June 9, 2017.
DreamWorks and Fox, which handles distribution of the DreamWorks toons, made the announcement while disclosing that “How to Train Your Dragon 2″ had crossed the $600 million worldwide mark on Labor Day — making it the highest grossing animated film of the year.
The “Dragon” sequel took in $174 million in the U.S. and $426 million more internationally.
DreamWorks said the third film will come from the same creative team as the first two films, with writer-director Dean DeBlois and producer Bonnie Arnold aboard. Returning voice cast includes Jay Baruchel as Hiccup, America Ferrera as Astrid and Cate Blanchett as Valka.
“How to Train Your Dragon 3″ is the first film to be dated for that weekend.
