Trevor Noah returns to host the Grammys for the 5th year in a row
The Recording Academy has announced that comedian and former Daily Show star Trevor Noah will return to host the Grammys for the fifth consecutive year. He has hosted since 2021, when he presided over the first COVID-affected ceremony. This year’s awards will also be a delicate balancing act since they coincide with the wildfires that have devastated areas of Los Angeles. The show will raise money for disaster relief funds and celebrate the recording industry’s best music achievements. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming event at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, Feb. 2.

Noah is also a Grammy nominee himself. He received his first bid for Best Comedy Album for Son of Patricia in 2020, but that award went to Dave Chappelle‘s Sticks and Stones. Then he contended in 2024 for I Wish You Would, but lost again to Chappelle, this time for What’s in a Name? This year is Noah’s third try for the trophy: he’s nominated for Where Was I? and faces, among others, Chappelle for The Dreamer. If Noah wins this time, he’ll add the Grammy to the two Emmys he won for The Daily Show. He claimed his first prize from the Television Academy for the short-form spinoff Between the Scenes in 2017. Then, he and his producing team won Best Talk Series in 2023.

Noah was hosting the Grammys when Beyoncé made history by becoming the most awarded person in the show’s history with her 32nd gramophone. He was also on hand when Taylor Swift won her record fourth Album of the Year title for Midnights. Both artists are nominated for Album of the Year in 2025 for Cowboy Carter and The Tortured Poets Department, respectively, though Beyoncé has by far the most bids (11). Cowboy Carter has the most nominations for a single album ever. Will Noah oversee history again with Beyoncé’s overdue first Album of the Year victory?
