A Tribute to Comedy Central’s Canceled ‘@midnight’
After four seasons on the air and two Emmy Awards, Comedy Central’s @midnight With Chris Hardwick has been canceled. The show, which will air its last episode Aug. 4, debuted in 2013 and quickly became known for its groundbreaking integration of social media, with viewers able to participate on Twitter in real time with #HashtagWars.
Host Chris Hardwick said in a statement to Deadline, “@midnight has meant the world to me these last four years. It has been a dream to come to work 600 times to make inappropriate jokes about the Internet with my fellow comedian friends. I could not be more proud of this show, staff, and crew.”
Hardwick still has a slew of projects across multiple platforms that he hosts and produces, so he’ll definitely be staying busy, but we decided to give @midnight a proper sendoff, with a tribute video.
The series finale of @midnight airs Friday, August 4, on Comedy Central.
