Tripp Palin eliminated on first night of 'Dancing With the Stars: Juniors'
The premiere of Dancing With the Stars: Juniors was a fun one. The show, which stars 12 “celebrity” children ranging from 9 to 14 years old, is just like the adult version — only much more lively.
One of the standout performances was from Alana Thompson, aka Honey Boo Boo. She won over the audience with a salsa to Gloria Estefan’s “Conga.” Judge Mandy Moore told her, “People are drawn to you, I think, because you have this feeling about you that you love life and you live your best life at every moment.”
The first show wasn’t all sunshine and Honey Boo Boos, though. Some viewers thought contestant Mackenzie Ziegler, 14, had an unfair advantage because of her background: Ziegler, a star of the show Dance Moms, has extensive experience in competitive dance.
Can we just take a moment to LOL at Mackenzie, former DANCE Moms kid, being a “star” and not a pro here. Thanks. #dwtsjuniors

Rounding out the premiere was a dash of politics, with the grandson of former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Tripp Palin performed a foxtrot to “Mama Said” by the Shirelles. He made a valiant effort but was ultimately eliminated.
Dancing With the Stars: Juniors airs Sunday nights at 8 on ABC.
