Trisha Yearwood Fans Are "Blown Away" By Throwback Performance
The 2024 Paris Olympics have come to a close. To celebrate the awe-inspiring sporting event, Trisha Yearwood took to Instagram to revisit her own iconic performance at the 1996 Olympic Closing Ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Congratulations to all the athletes who have competed in this year’s unbelievable games,” she captioned the grainy video of her performance. “As the Olympics come to an end this weekend, I hope the flame guides you all safely home from Paris! Thank you for sharing your talent, strength, and dedication with the world! xo.”
A Georgia native, Trisha was the perfect person to honor the late ‘90s summer games. For her performance, she sang an a cappella version of “The Flame.” Her rendition was so powerful, many of her fans remember it to this day.
“I remember being so thrilled and proud for Trisha to represent her Georgia heritage in that amazing performance,” one person reminisced in her comments section. “I was blown away by your vocals that night,” someone else remarked. “I was there and vividly remember that performance. It’s nice to see it again,” another fan wrote.
This year’s closing ceremony was filled with iconic performances, as well. Billie Eilish captivated the audience with “Birds of a Feather” while Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre wowed the crowd with “The Last Episode.” Meanwhile, the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed their hit “Can't Stop.” Still, Trisha’s fans are hoping she returns to the Olympic stage in 2028.
