‘Tulsa King’ Season 2 Trailer: New Enemies Abound as Sylvester Stallone Expands His Great Plains Crime Empire
Dwight “The General” Manfredi is coming back with a vengeance.
Sylvester Stallone returns to the mean streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma in the new season of “Tulsa King” on Paramount+. The Taylor Sheridan-created series — which was run by Terence Winter in Season 1 before pivoting to a more collaborative ensemble of writer/producers working without a showrunner for Season 2 — has released its first trailer, which sees the New York mafioso facing a new set of foes in the land where the buffalo roam.

Season 1 of “Tulsa King” followed Stallone’s Manfredi as he leaves prison after serving a 20-year sentence while refusing to testify against his mob associates. But changes to the family power structure during his time inside left him with an icy welcome upon his release. Rather than returning to the fold in New York, he’s sent to Tulsa to set up a new crime empire from scratch. He soon teams up with an eclectic ensemble of low-lifes to develop a diversified business portfolio that includes everything from marijuana dispensary extortion to concert parking lot nitrous balloon distribution.
The show attracted a passionate following due in part to its lighthearted tone, which Stallone attributed to the writers using his authentic voice in a in a 2023 interview with IndieWire.
“It seems funny and natural because that’s what my real voice is,” Stallone said. “Before, [the series] was pretty droll, and we’ve seen droll. Droll has been done to death. It’s been done very well — De Niro and these guys have done ‘Casino’ and ‘Goodfellas’ — so let’s try to take this in a different direction.”
Season 2 of “Tulsa King” sees Frank Grillo joining the cast as a series regular, playing Kansas City mobster Bill Bevilaqua. The series also stars Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Vincent Piazza, Tatiana Zappardino, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Domenick Lombardozzi, Andrea Savage, Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.
“Tulsa King” Season 2 premieres Sunday, September 15 on Paramount+. Watch the trailer below.
