Tyler Childers Helps the Rolling Stones Say It With ‘Dead Flowers’ in Orlando
The Rolling Stones brought out Tyler Childers in Orlando on Monday night, June 3, for a special performance of their Sticky Fingers classic “Dead Flowers.”
Childers upped the number of guitars onstage to at least four, strumming his acoustic guitar to match Mick Jagger’s while Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards (as always) traded licks on electric. Childers also split vocal duties with with Jagger and added an extra layer of harmony to the country-inspired tune.

The performance last night marked a tour debut for “Dead Flowers,” a song the Stones have played sporadically over the past few years. The last time it was a concrete part of a Stones set list was in 2019, per Setlist.fm.
While Childers is in the midst of his own extensive 2024 tour in support of his 2023 album Rustin’ in the Rain, he was tapped to open for the Stones in Orlando last night as well. Luckily, the Orlando show was sandwiched between Childers’ nearby gigs in Virginia Beach and Tampa. His “Mule Pull” tour will continue all the way through the summer and into the early fall, wrapping with an Oct. 5 set at the inaugural Country Calling Festival in Ocean City, Maryland.
As for the Rolling Stones, their Hackney Diamonds trek resumes Friday, June 7, in Atlanta and wraps July 21 in Ridgedale, Missouri. The band has enlisted a rotating assortment of openers, including Gary Clark Jr., the Pretty Reckless, and Joe Bonamassa, so far. Future shows will feature Widespread Panic, Bettye LaVette, Lainey Wilson, the War and Treaty, and the Linda Lindas.
