Tyrese Says His ‘Club Shay Shay’ Interview Will Go Katt Williams-Level Viral
Tyrese is confident that his interview with Shannon Sharpe will reach Katt Williams’ level of virality. On Tuesday (Aug. 27), pictures of Black Ty filming his episode of Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay made the rounds with an official posting from the show’s Instagram detailing what to expect.
“Tyrese and Shannon Sharpe open up about their internet-breaking videos, and the viral orange bag makes an appearance on the episode. This is a conversation you don’t want to miss,” the caption reads. “Full episode is available wherever you listen to podcasts at midnight eastern and streams on YouTube at noon eastern tomorrow.”
Tyrese added to the hype with a PSA to all his followers and the internet at large in an IG Live video. He detailed that if his whole interview is released, his episode will reach “Katt Williams numbers.” However, he reassured his fans that he didn’t go on the show trying to replicate Williams’ energy or “Katt Williams topics” but respects “his truth.”
Tyrese’s most recent interview found the singer going viral after he chaotically opened up about his life on The Breakfast Club. He talked to Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy about not being able to process the death any of his loved ones as he’s suffered a series of losses. Black Ty then broke down and explained how he has been suffering but insisted that “Black men cry” too.
“I’m doing the best I can with every 24 hours I get,” he expressed. “Black men cry. F**k a tissue. Every 24 hours I get, I’m doing the best I can. Beautiful Pain, 1992, there is no square footage I could ever live in. There is no rims, no jewelry, no car, no net worth, no press release, no co-star, there was no collaboration in the world that could ever replace my mama. That could never fill the void of what it’s like to wake up and get married and be in something for the rest of your life and it goes away.”
“Black men cry. When divorce has happened, women aren’t the only one that are devastated,” the California native added. “When a miscarriage happens, women are not the only ones that you should be checking on. When you can’t put food on the table because your career goes up and it goes down, stop calling and skipping over the man and just checking on the woman.”
