U.S. Snowboardcross Team’s Faye Gulini’s 2018 Winter Olympics Playlist: Beyonce, Maren Morris, Ludacris & More
U.S. snowboardcross ripper Faye Gulini isn’t afraid to admit that she has a reputation for having the “worst” taste in music, but she doesn’t care. The seven-time X-Games competitor and fourth place finisher at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics was more than happy to share her pump-up playlist with Billboard before flying to Pyeonchang, South Korea, for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
“I have a reputation for listening to the ‘worst’ music,” she tells Billboard. “To be entirely honest I get pretty hyped on pop country, 90’s jams and top 40. The genre doesn’t really matter though, as long as it’s a song that I like I’ll have no problem getting pumped up to it.”
More from Billboard
And she wasn’t kidding — her mix for Billboard was all over the place, from Beyoncé‘s “Daddy Issues” to classic rock from The Band (“Up on Cripple Creek”), grinding hip-hop by Juvenile and Soulja Slim (“Slow Motion”), and, of course, a hard jam from Kapix, the Salt Lake City band featuring fellow snowboardcrosser Hagen Kearney.
