Union LA‘s revered take on the Air Jordan 1 High from 2018 may be making a return next year.
A new Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High will release with a new colorway in February 2025, according to the trusted sneaker leaker known as zSneakerHeadz. The confirmed color scheme of “Varsity Red,” “Black Sail,” “Shadow Grey” and “Muslin suggests there’s a good chance that the sneaker features a similar arrangement to Union’s “Storm Blue” and “Black Toe” variants, which are the most coveted of the influential boutique’s Air Jordan collaborations.
Union began collaborating with Nike in 2005, but it didn’t begin working with Jordan Brand until its Air Jordan 1 duo. At the time, Air Jordan 1 collaborations were still more rare than they are today, Inspired by hunting for vintage sneakers, owner Christ Gibbs gave his Air Jordan 1’s Frankenstein-like treatments that looked like parts from two different sneakers had been stitched together.

The “Black Toe” variant utilizes its namesake colorway for the majority of the shoe while switching to “Shadow Grey,” another OG, for the collar. “Storm Blue” them opts for color-blocking similar to the 1985 “Powder Blue” variant, albeit with its darker namesake color. “Storm Blue” them opts for color-blocking similar to the 1985 “Powder Blue” variant, albeit with a different shade, and a collar pulling from the classic “Bred” edition. Both colorways also feature contrast stitching to further highlight the distrinct elements, as well as two-tone laces coordinated with the switch and detailing to suggest aging.
Based on the known colors for Union’s forthcoming Air Jordan 1, it appears that it will hybridize the original “Chicago” and “Shadow” variants.
Last summer, Union released another Air Jordan 1 High with an entirely different treatment featuring a woven pattern similar to that found on the Nike Foot Air Footscape Woven.
Official images haven’t been seen for the Union x Air Jordan 1 Low “Varsity Red,” nor has a more firm release date been confirmed. It will still likely be some time before more details arise, but Footwear news will keep you abreast of any updates.
