Reminders of Him centers on Keena Rowan, a troubled young mother who yearns for a shot at redemption in her life after a tragic mistake. Hoover and Levine will produce Reminders of Him through their Heartbones Entertainment banner, with Universal planning to release the movie theatrically on Feb. 13, 2026.
“I am excited as Reminders of Him holds a special place in my heart too. I feel confident Universal is the right partner to do this story justice. What better way to launch Heartbones Entertainment, my company with producing partner Lauren Levine. Our aim is to create something quite special for everyone,” Hoover said in a statement.
There’s no word on casting for the project, but the Reminders of Him adaptation will look to entice Hoover’s literary fans to the local multiplex. “Heartbones aims to deliver to movies what Colleen has done so successfully in publishing, and we know these stories will find emotional and economic resonance in the modern movie business,” Levine added in her own statement.
Reminders of Him has sold over five million copies domestically, and another 6.5 million copies globally. Hoover’s other bestselling novels include It Starts with Us, Layla, Heart Bones, Confess and Verity.
Hoover, Levine, and Heartbones Entertainment are represented by UTA, which managed the book adaptation deal for the filmmakers.
