Usher, Lizzo to campaign with Harris this weekend
Kamala Harris’s campaign is saying “Yeah!” to a double dose of star power, with Usher and Lizzo appearing in back-to-back swing state events in support of the vice president’s White House bid.
“Good as Hell” singer Lizzo will appear alongside the presidential hopeful at a campaign event in Detroit on Saturday, ITK has confirmed. The news was first reported by CNN.
Earlier this week, Lizzo, who was born in Detroit, revealed that she voted early for Harris.
“There’s so many important issues on the ballot this year,” the 36-year-old performer said, encouraging attendees at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women summit to “please vote.”
After the voter mobilization push with Lizzo, Harris will head to Atlanta for a rally with Usher in battleground state Georgia.
Usher said last month that he was endorsing Harris in her race against former President Trump.
“Who you highlight and how you choose to highlight it on whatever platform you have is your prerogative,” the Grammy Award winner said in an interview on “The View.”
Harris’s campaign appears to be upping the star power in the weeks just ahead of Election Day. This week, the campaign announced a fundraising sweepstakes to win tickets to an upcoming get-out-the-vote concert featuring “superstar musicians.”
“This one’s a real show-stopper,” teased a fundraising email signed by Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D).
