Venom 3: Is Rhys Ifans Returning as The Lizard in The Last Dance?
The new Venom 3 trailer offered a brief glimpse at Rhys Ifans‘ character in the film, leading to many fans wondering if he is reprising his role of Dr. Curt Connors aka Lizard from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man: No Way Home. So, is Rhys Ifans playing Lizard in Venom: The Last Dance? Or is he playing an entirely new character?
Here’s everything you need to know about Rhys Ifans’ appearance in the movie.
Is Rhys Ifans playing The Lizard in Venom 3: The Last Dance?
It is highly unlikely that Rhys Ifans is playing The Lizard or Curt Connors in Venom 3: The Last Dance. He’s very likely playing an entirely new character.
The trailer already gives one clue that Ifans is not playing Connors. At one point, he is shown with both his hands holding a guitar, likely playing a song for the young boy sitting in the van with him. Rhys Ifans’ Connors in The Amazing Spider-Man was depicted as missing one arm prior to his transformation as Lizard.
What is Rhys Ifans’ new role in Venom 3?
Rhys Ifans’ new role in Venom 3 is currently undisclosed as his character’s name in the film is not revealed.
However, what is known is that Ifans’ character will be a traveling companion of Eddie Brock and Venom at some point in the movie as they are both seen sitting in the same van in the trailer.
Ifans is not the only actor from previous Marvel movies to appear in Venom 3 as he is also joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who previously played Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
