Video: Jane’s Addiction frontman throws punches at guitarist during concert
Fans at a Jane’s Addiction concert on Friday witnessed more than just the reunion tour for a popular band.
Friday night’s show in Boston was stopped abruptly due to a fight. No, it wasn’t a fight in the crowd, but on stage — and between members of the Los Angeles-based band.
At one point, during a performance of the song “Ocean Size,” lead singer Perry Farrell turned to guitarist Dave Navarro during his guitar solo and shoved his longtime bandmate. Navarro continued to play while the pair shared words, and Farrell again came at him, this time throwing a punch.
Navarro stuck out his arm toward Farrell to keep his distance as the rest of the band quickly ran over to the duo before things got out of hand, separating them on stage.
After Farrell was escorted to backstage, per witnesses, the rest of the band, including Navarro, said farewell to the crowd and departed the stage.
It’s not clear what led to the scuffle. As of Saturday morning, no band members have acknowledged the incident publicly.
The band was scheduled to perform in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Sunday, but it’s not clear if that gig will still happen.
