The biggest stars of the '90s turned out to salute Teen PEOPLE: see the epic throwback photos

On Jan. 6, 1999, a who's-who of pop stars and other celebs gathered to salute Teen PEOPLE's 1st anniversary.

The star-studded bash at the Key Club in Los Angeles boasted an impressive guest list that included Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Keri Russell and so many more. *NSYNC treated guests to a live performance, and, yes, as at any fabulous birthday bash, there was cake!

Britney Spears

With her 1998 debut single "...Baby One More Time" burning up the charts, Britney Spears was on the cusp of releasing her first album when she attended Teen PEOPLE's 1st Anniversary Party.

Christina Aguilera

Another pop starlet on the cusp of mega-fame at the event: Christina Aguilera. The singer's breakthrough single, "Genie in a Bottle," would burst onto the charts six months later in June 1999.
