Award winning costume designer Sandy Powell is on board as the costume designer for Disney’s “Snow White.”
Powell, who has created the looks of queens in “The Favourite” and “Shakespeare in Love”; mobsters in “The Irishman” and “Gangs of New York”; lush period pieces such as “Carol” for more than three decades is no stranger to the world of Disney. She created the costumes for the live-action “Cinderella” in 2015.

The Visual Effects Society will present Guillermo del Toro with VES Award for Creative Excellence on March 8.

Kristen Stewart To Serve As Honorary Chair Of The 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards
Film Independent has named Academy Award nominee Kristen Stewart as the Honorary Chair of the 2022 Spirit Awards. One of the most accomplished, talented and in-demand young actresses of her generation, Stewart has garnered over 22 critic awards for her portrayal of Princess Diana in Pablo Larrain’s Spencer.
“Independent film has been a formative and vital aspect of my life since I was a child. As an insider and an outsider it’s clear to me how the support it offers artists is essential. I couldn’t be more proud to serve as Honorary Chair this year and to help in celebrating all the nominees!” said Stewart.
“We are thrilled to have Kristen Stewart serve as our Honorary Chair this year. A true risk-taker, in all of her choices she embodies the fearlessness and bold originality that is at the heart of the Spirit Awards,” said Film Independent President Josh Welsh.
Production Designers William A. Horning and Polly Platt Inducted Into ADG Hall Of Fame
Production Designer William A. Horning, best known for his legendary work on “Ben-Hur,” “Gigi,” “North by Northwest” and “The Wizard of Oz,” and Oscar nominated Production Designer, Costume Designer and Producer Polly Platt, honored for her designs including “Say Anything,” “Terms of Endearment,” “A Star is Born” and “Broadcast News,” will be inducted into the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) Hall of Fame for their extraordinary contributions to the art of visual storytelling at the 26th Annual Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Awards
President of the ADG, Nelson Coates said, “The creative and professional standards set by the 2022 ADG Awards Hall of Fame recipients Polly Platt and William A. Horning are nonpareil. The breadth of the narrative design achievement and depth of storytelling excellence of both legendary designers has served as a benchmark for production design and collaboration and will continue to inspire for generations to come.”
Production Designer Ida Random (AD), Graphic Designers Michael and Denise Okuda (SDMM), Set Designer/Art Director Ann Harris (STG) and Concept Illustrator and Storyboard Artist Donna Cline (IMA) will all be presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their outstanding legacies and contributions to their crafts.
Georgia Bodnar Joins UTA as Publishing Agent
Publishing industry veteran Georgia Bodnar has joined UTA’s publishing division as an agent. She will be based in the agency’s New York office and report to Byrd Leavell, UTA’s head of publishing.
“Georgia is highly regarded not only for her fierce intellect, professionalism, and the incredible list of titles she has overseen, but also for her collaborative approach to the process,” Leavell stated, announcing Bodnar’s hiring. “One of the defining aspects of UTA Publishing is our tight knit culture of community – Georgia embodies that, and her charisma and strategic vision will add so much to our team.”
Bodnar comes to UTA with nearly a decade of industry experience, most recently serving as a senior editor at Viking Penguin, an imprint of Penguin Random House. Among her acquisitions, include books by actor Uzo Aduba, designer Prabal Gurung, essayist Mikki Kendall, activist DeRay Mckesson, comedian Aparna Nancherla, and writer and poet Erika Sánchez. She has also acquired books by historian Matthew Delmont, astrophysicist and TED Fellow Aomawa Shields, ethnobotanist Cassandra Quave, and professors Joanna Schwartz and Irvin Weathersby, among other academics.
She holds a BA in English Literature and worked in nonprofit organizations for five years before beginning her publishing career. Bodnar currently serves on the readers committee for the New York Public Library’s Young Lions Fiction Award, a $10,000 prize awarded to a writer aged 35 or younger.
Kirsten Vangsness Named as Host for the 58th CAS Awards
Kirsten Vangsness will host the 58th Cinema Audio Society Awards.
Vangsness is best known for playing tech-kitten Penelope Garcia on the 15 seasons of the CBS crime drama “Criminal Minds,” where she also co-wrote 5 episodes. She has performed and created many theatrical productions, including “Mess” and “Cleo, Theo, & Wu,” both featured at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her animated short “Curtains” is a film festival darling, and she can be heard as “Nico” the lovable lesbian fox alien in “Voyage to the Stars.” She is the creator of the YouTube series “Kirsten’s Agenda,” which is about art and self actualization.
“The Cinema Audio Society is elated to have Kirsten Vangsness return as our award show host. Her special brand of quirky cerebral brilliance and humor is the perfect complement to our return to a physical show,” said CAS President Karol Urban.

Casting Society 37th Artios Awards Moving to March 23
Casting Society (CSA), announced the 37th Annual Artios Awards, originally planned as an intimate member only virtual celebration on March 17.
“We are so excited to present this year’s show as a worldwide virtual ceremony to kick-off our 40th-anniversary celebration and our new name. We look forward to honoring the work of these deserving casting directors,” said CSA President Kim Williams.
As the official presenting partner for the 37th Annual Artios Awards, Casting Workbook will be acting as a production partner to deliver the entire Artios program virtually to audiences around the world. Additionally, they will also be broadcasting the pre-show Live Red-Carpet Experience hosted by former ET Correspondent Natasha Garguilo and “The Working Actor” Host Rodrigo Recio from 2pm PT to 4:30pm PT live via YouTube.
