Walk the Line stars Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon reunite on Golden Globes red carpet
Sadly, they couldn’t find the time to perform a duet.
Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon reunited on the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, almost 15 years after the pair played husband and wife Johnny Cash and June Carter in 2005’s Walk the Line.
The biopic, directed by James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari), told the tale of Cash’s romance with Carter, his struggles with drug addiction, and his ascent to country music stardom. A critical and box office success, the film won several awards, with Phoenix and Witherspoon taking home Best Actor and Actress in a Musical or Comedy. Both went on to earn Oscar nominations as well, with Witherspoon winning Best Actress.
Witherspoon and Phoenix were both nominated again at the Golden Globes this year. Witherspoon earned a Best Actress in a TV Series – Drama nod for her performance in The Morning Show, while Phoenix was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Joker.
