Brown, who recently appeared on Billboard’s cover, shared the fairytale-like video with fans on Friday (Sept. 12) through Twitter, noting that he also served as the clip’s director. His team teased the video in April with a one-shot clip of the pop star dancing backlit for to the dance-floor-ready beat.

In the darkly lit video, Grande plays a princess who is separated from her love interest after the kingdom discovers their romance and locks him away. The moody video splices scenes of Brown’s signature dance moves and some steamy moments between the music stars.

“Don’t Be Gone Too Long” is from Brown’s sixth studio album, X, which will be released Sept. 16 on RCA.
