To the joy of thousands in attendance, Grohl invited Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and Queen drummer Roger Taylor on stage for a performance of Queen’s “Under Pressure.” Watch the amazing performance in the fan-shot video below.
“Now look,” Grohl told the crowd, according to Consequence of Sound. “I don’t know if y’all have ever seen a supergroup. This is a ‘superdupergroup.’ I don’t even know what to say because this kind of shit doesn’t happen every day. Let me just tell you that the Foo Fighters, right now, are living out our rock ‘n’ roll fantasy with you tonight.”
The “Under Pressure” performance paid tribute to late Queen singer Freddie Mercury, whose birthday fell on Sept. 5.
The Foo Fighters were scheduled to play a second show at National Bowl on Sunday.
