Watch Zach Braff struggle to name all of BFF Donald Faison's 6 kids on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”

At least the "Garden State" writer/director/actor was honest.

Zach Braff and Donald Faison have a history, and it goes beyond the medical comedy Scrubs that they costarred on for nine seasons. As fans may know, they're not just costars and collaborators, but close friends.

So it was dicey when Braff had to name all six of Faison's kids, after host Jimmy Kimmel asked him to, for Wednesday's episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Watch in the exclusive video below as the Garden State writer/director/star immediately spouts out the names of the first three (Kobe, Dade, and Kaya), then Wilder and Rocco, and then... honesty.

"That one's the most grown, and I don't know his name," Braff said. "I'm sorry."

Like the kind friend he obviously is to Braff, Faison calmly said, "It's all right. His name is Sean."

Faison, who's also known for Clueless and Felicity, shares his youngest two children, the school-age Wilder and Rocco, with CaCee Cobb, whom he married at Braff's home in December 2012. The mother of Kobe, Dade, and Kaya is his late ex-wife Lisa Askey, while Sean's mother is his ex-love Audrey Ince.

Zach Braff and Donald Faison are close friends

As for the platonic love between Faison and Braff, that began even before Scrubs debuted in 2001.

"The first time I met him was at the table read for Scrubs," Faison told Kelly Clarkson on her talk show in February. "And we talked for a little bit, and I was like, 'Wow, we kind of have the same sense of humor.' And after the first season was over, we both went to New York."

Both were set to appear in shows that summer, so they decided to share an apartment.

'"I realized he was my best friend when we were in the living room playing ping pong in our underwear," Faison said. "I was like 'You're my best friend! Look at us!'"

Braff and Faison's (fully clothed) appearance on the game show will air Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
