'The Way Home' Cast Shared Season 4 Teasers & Revealed the Biggest 'Diva' on Set

Fans of The Way Home are already waiting on the edge of their seats for season three after season two’s cliffhanger finale and now the cast and showrunners just added to that excitement by teasing what’s to come.

Cast members Evan Williams, Chyler Leigh and Sadie Laflamme-Snow joined the show’s creators Alexandra Clarke, Marly Reed and Alexandra Conkie for a panel at ATX TV Festival, which was moderated by Variety, on June 2. There, the group revealed how season three might pick back up after leaving fans waiting to see how Del (Andie MacDowell) will react to Kat (Leigh) walking into her home with Jacob (Spencer Macpherson).

‘The Way Home’ season 3 will start filming in August.

“We definitely can confirm that we do have to do a time jump, purely because of when we shoot,” Clarke said, explaining that filming will pick back up in August after wrapping in November. “But TBD on how much we do cheat things and stay and pick up right where we left off, you know very similarly to how we started Season 2 and then jumped.”

Williams was quick to chime in to share his excitement about the upcoming season, saying: “I can’t wait to tell the story that we’re going to be shooting in season three.” Laflamme-Snow echoed her co-star’s excitement, adding that this season she knows more about what is to come than ever before, while Leigh was a little hesitant to chime in.

She joked: “I’ve been told bits and pieces, but I have a big mouth, so it’s probably best that I don’t know too much.”

When asked whether fans will be introduced to Elliot’s ex-wife in the upcoming season, co-showrunner, Conkie as good as confirmed the speculation by responding, “Who have you been talking to?”

“I think there’s a lot of Elliott story left to tell,” Reed concluded.

Elsewhere in the conversation the group discussed some behind-the-scenes moments, the challenges of filming those pond scenes and revealed who was the biggest diva on set — the family dog, Finn.

“He’s very difficult,” Laflamme-Snow joked before Reed echoed, calling him a “diva.”

“He’s a real puppy at heart,” Leigh revealed. “He had a very rough upbringing. He was poorly treated before he was brought in [to the show.]”

“He was a little bit skittish and he was, you know, a little apprehensive but our trainers really did as great a job as you can with a dog that is also a herding dog.”

Laflamme-Snow confirmed that it’s all love between the cast and their unruly co-star, saying, “We’re dog people [and] animal people so we’re happy when he’s in the scene.”
