‘Wednesday’ Finishes Another Year at Nevermore as Season Two Production Wraps
Another school year has concluded at Nevermore Academy as Wednesday wraps production on its awaited second season. Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular role, launched the Netflix series into phenomenon-level popularity when its brooding first season premiered in 2022.
Showrunners and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar detailed the upcoming season in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, saying: “This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore.”

Wednesday is expected to return in 2025. In September, Netflix went behind the scenes of Season Two in a first-look video. The clip featured Ortega in proper Wednesday Addams mode, holding up a knife and offering an ominous invitation to play dolls. “Season 2 will be delightfully dark, kooky, and mysterious,” Gough and Millar said. “If we told you why, Wednesday would kill us. So our lips are sealed.”
Last month, it was reported that Lady Gaga will make a cameo in the new season after the viral “Bloody Mary” trend dominated TikTok in the months after the series premiered.
Wednesday Season Two was filmed in Ireland with returning cast members Ortega, Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), and Victor Dorobantu (Thing). The series also welcomed new regulars Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago) are also billed as series regulars this season.
Christopher Lloyd, who played Fester Addams in the early-Nineties Addams Family movies, will also make a special appearance, though Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester will also return in a guest capacity. Other guests include Jamie McShane, Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley, Heather Matarazzo, and Haley Joel Osment.
