This Week's Biggest Sneaker Releases, and Where to Get Them
This week saw the annual celebration of Nike's Air Max Day, which marks the original release date of the Air Max 1 on March 26 in 1987. We're telling you that for historicity's sake-there actually aren't many major Air Max releases set to align with the event, which is a departure. But there are a couple limited editions, including a hybrid style, plus an Air Max 180 with a city theme.
There are also a few great collaborations on the docket from Nike and Clot, Puma and Overkill, and New Balance and End. High-end footwear purveyors Greats launched a collection of low-key kicks featuring unexpected uppers, and Jordan rolled out a couple classics in a set of similar colorways. There's more, too. Just keep reading to find out what's in store.
Unfortunately, the first release of the week is a bit of tease for U.S. fans-it's only available in Europe. The Air Max 180 "Berlin" is inspired by the city's famous club scene in the late '80s and '90s, so it makes sense. And if you're ambitious, we're sure you can get your hands on a pair.
Release: 3/26 (Berlin), 3/30 (Europe)

Ripstop is a material you see often in apparel-most notably in military and military-inspired garments-but not often in footwear. It's a welcome addition to Greats' always-stylish Royale silhouette.

2003 was a huge year for basketball-it was the year LeBron James was drafted into the NBA. It was also a big year in music, with hits from everyone from Outkast to Nelly to Beyoncé dominating the airwaves. These shoes pay homage to the sound-and look-of the era.

Originally debuted on the runway during Paris Fashion Week, the Air Zoom Haven 97 combines the upper of 1999's Zoom Haven with the sole of the Air Max 97. There's still some info up in the air on these-like how much they'll cost-but we know they're getting an initial release in Hong Kong this week, followed by a global release in May.

Overkill is one of Germany's most influential sneaker retailers. Puma's one of the country's flagship sneaker brands. No wonder the two teamed up, this time on a version of the Cell Venom sneaker that blends white, gray, and few pops of neon-with impressive results.

The "Tinker" version of the Air Jordan 3 pays homage to legendary designer Tinker Hatfield's initial idea for the shoe, complete with a Nike Swoosh. It's been a polarizing design for some fans, but if ever there were a colorway to unite the commentariat, it's this one. Inspired by the OG Air Max 1-also a Hatfield innovation-the white-and-red uppers are just plain classic.
Release: 3/30
If the AJ3 isn't for you, there's also a Jordan 1 releasing this week. The colorway is similar, but a little more toned down with fewer hits of red and a slightly off-white base. The contrast stitching gives the unimpeachable silhouette a new vibe, which is always welcome.

We can't specifically guarantee these were inspired by the cannabis strain. Nor can we say whether it's simply an homage to Hendrix. What we can say for sure, though, is that the lilac-and-gray version of these X90s (there's also a more on-the-nose purple, plus a darker grayscale version) is very damn stylish.

The iterations of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 just keep rolling in. This week brings us "Clay," a pinkish, brownish, purplish color that looks like, well...clay. That's set off by a brighter mid- and outsole, plus a contrasting heel strap. There's nothing new about the silhouette at this point, but if you're looking to get into the game, this colorway should prove quite wearable.
